Cloud Cuckoo Land

Clouds and rocks used to be so close together. So close together in a single word. Cloud started off meaning "mass of rock". It was extended metaphorically in the 1300s based on the similarity of cumulus clouds and rock masses.

Today they're still close together. And Cloud Cuckoo Land is still there. The perfect city between the clouds.

So you do know your Greek Mythology.
Cloud Cuckoo Land- It is fanciful and Utopian and as a matter of fact Greek.
It comes from a Greek play by Aristophanes (The Birds).
Cloud Cuckoo Land is the utopia that the heroes build in the air, with the help of the birds. The phrase has come to mean any theoretical system that is original and wildly impractical.
Again, I love your blog!
